Recently, one hundred new solar streetlights were installed in Gaoshan Village, Siqu Town, Yanhe Tujia Autonomous County, Tongren City, Guizhou Province, bringing smiles of happiness to the villagers' faces.
"Before, the village was pitch black at night, and few people went out after dark. Now that all the solar streetlights are installed, the village roads are bright, and more and more villagers are taking walks and going out at night, making life much more convenient!" said Tian Yingming, a villager from Gaoshan Village.
It is understood that the previously installed solar streetlights in the village did not achieve full coverage. The work team dispatched by the Yanhe Power Supply Bureau to Gaoshan Village made "installing streetlights" their top priority. To ensure the lights were installed in suitable locations, the team members and village officials searched every corner of the village, painstakingly planning a coherent and balanced nighttime lighting network. Through the joint efforts of the village-based work team and the villagers, 100 high-efficiency, energy-saving solar-powered courtyard lights have been installed in seven village groups, including Qituo and Laozhai, achieving full lighting coverage in the village's main public areas and roads.
It is understood that since 2017, when Yanhe Power Supply Bureau began providing targeted assistance to Gaoshan Village, it has successively selected six cadres to serve as the first secretaries stationed in the village, continuously deepening its work in assisting the village. Over the years, the bureau has actively addressed the village's development needs, implementing a series of projects benefiting the people, such as bringing drinking water to households, paving roads, and constructing reservoirs, investing a total of over 600,000 yuan in assistance funds to comprehensively improve the village's infrastructure conditions and effectively facilitate the production and lives of the villagers.
