As night falls and the lights come on, the once dark country lanes are lit up with twinkling lights. Under the streetlights, elderly people chat idly, and children play happily. This vibrant rural atmosphere not only illuminates the way home for residents but also warms their hearts.
Previously, some towns and villages in Jintai District, Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, suffered from inadequate infrastructure, resulting in blind spots in lighting and old, damaged streetlights, posing significant safety hazards for villagers traveling at night. The Jintai District Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau focused on the urgent needs and concerns of the people, making the rural road lighting improvement project a key livelihood project to address infrastructure shortcomings and improve the living environment. They implemented precise measures to promote the installation and upgrading of streetlights. During the project implementation, staff conducted over 50 comprehensive surveys in towns and villages, scientifically planning the placement of streetlights in key areas such as main village roads, cultural squares, and field production roads. To align with rural realities, the project fully utilizes solar streetlights. These lights automatically store energy during the day and illuminate intelligently at night, requiring no cabling and consuming no mains electricity. This energy-saving and environmentally friendly approach reduces ongoing maintenance costs and is highly practical.
To date, Jintai District has invested approximately 3 million yuan, installing and upgrading 1,018 solar streetlights in 5 agricultural towns and 9 administrative villages, benefiting over 40,000 people. This has achieved full lighting coverage on key roads, completely changing the history of rural residents having to travel in the dark at night, effectively eliminating road safety hazards, and greatly facilitating daily life and production. It truly addresses the needs of the people.
Next, the Jintai District Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau will focus on the needs of the people, diligently resolving their pain points. Through numerous small but practical measures to improve people's lives, the bureau will continue to enhance their well-being, using these small acts of kindness to illuminate the path to a better life and continuously improve their sense of gain, happiness, and security.
