In the past two years, the Yiyang District 2 Community Party Committee has conducted in-depth investigations, visits, and collected opinions and suggestions from residents. It has learned that the street lighting facilities in the West District of Shanshuiju, Yiyang are old, in disrepair, insufficiently configured, the lines are aging and sparsely distributed, and the lighting effect is dim. It is inconvenient for residents to travel at night.
On the basis of fully soliciting opinions and suggestions from party members, residents, community property management and other parties, and on the basis of ensuring that the original lighting will not be affected and the electricity load of the community will not be increased, the 2023 grassroots party organizations’ funds for serving the masses will be used to install environmentally friendly and energy-saving solar street light for the community.
The community contacted the construction party to determine the location and quantity of solar street lights to be installed after repeated on-site inspections, experiments, comparison analysis, and communication and negotiation. In the end, with the rapid promotion of the community party committee, 119 street lights were turned on, which not only achieved the purpose of energy conservation and environmental protection, but also made it easier for residents to travel at night, illuminated their way home, and lit up the happiness in the hearts of residents.
Looking at the bright community, Wang Yun, secretary of the community party committee and director of the neighborhood committee, said: "There is no small matter for the masses. Doing a practical thing can warm people's hearts and gather strength. Although the street lights are small, they are related to the travel safety of the residents of the community. The street lights illuminate the residents’ way home and warm the hearts of every resident in the community.”
In the next step, Yiyang District 2 Community will continue to take party building as the guide, use community construction and community services as the carrier, locate the people's "demand points", fully integrate the resources of all parties, serve the people's livelihood accurately and effectively, and put the people's needs down to earth. "Urgent, difficult, anxious and anticipated" issues are solved in a practical and good manner, allowing the masses to feel "micro-happiness" in the "micro-changes" in front of and behind the house.
