Gongkang No. 4 Village is located in Pengpu Xincun Street, Jing'an District, Shanghai. Due to the imperfect lighting facilities in the community and the formation of blind spots for lighting after the installation of elevators, it has brought inconvenience to the residents of the community. After receiving the community's request for assistance, the District Greening and City Appearance Bureau and the District City Appearance and Landscape Management Office, as co-construction units of the branch, conducted investigations and strived to improve the situation as soon as possible. After an on-site survey with the landscape maintenance unit, the Jing'an Greening and City Appearance Management Department proposed to install solar wall lights at the location of the elevator in the community to improve community lighting, facilitate people's travel, and make the community more beautiful and livable.
Solar wall lights can convert solar energy into electrical energy under sunlight, thereby automatically charging and storing light energy. Solar wall lights use intelligent light-controlled automatic switches, which use dual sensing of light and people. They do not need to be connected to the power supply, so there is no need for cumbersome wiring, which can minimize the impact of construction. At the same time, solar wall lights have a long service life. They use semiconductor chips to emit light without filaments. They can be used for 50,000 hours under normal circumstances, far exceeding the service life of incandescent lamps of 1,000 hours and energy-saving lamps of 8,000 hours. Moreover, solar wall lights do not contain mercury. Xenon and xenon are two substances that will not cause pollution to the environment after being discarded.
A total of 30 solar wall lights were installed in the community this time. After the renovation, it made residents’ nighttime travel safer and more convenient, and was well received by residents.
