The Lyon Festival of Lights in France originated in 1852. It is a religious festival in Lyon and generally lasts for four days. More than four million tourists come to Lyon every year to enjoy the Festival of Lights, when the entire city is lit up into dazzling works of art. Thousands of light decorations adorn buildings, squares and streets, outlining gorgeous patterns and creative landscapes.

This year the Lyon Light Festival will be held from December 7th to 10th in various locations in the center of Lyon. This light festival will consist of 32 works around 7 different themes: Salute to Nature, Children's Perspective, Lyon Creation, Look Away, Grand Performance, Walking Trail, One Step Away.
2023 also marks the 25th anniversary of Lyon’s inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List, so this year’s Festival of Lights will also expand to new areas, bringing joy to communities across the city.
