Since the beginning of the year, Xinrong Town, Yulin Beiliu City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has continued to implement the infrastructure improvement project of “replacing main roads from white to black”. Recently, the more than 20 kilometers of town and village asphalt roads built in 2022 in the town have been fully installed with solar street lights and upgraded.
In order to deeply experience and interview the lighting improvement effect of the town’s main roads in Xinrong Town, on the evening of October 23, the reporter followed the town government staff into Xinrong Town from Beibao Second Road, passing through Yushan Village, Wuchang Village, Fuzhong Village, Xinrong Village, Xinrong Town Xu, Zhenxin Village, Datong Village and other "six villages and one village", the journey is about 19 kilometers, basically covering the entire town.
Along the way, the reporter drove through the densely arranged lamp posts and felt that the lights were bright but not dazzling. The road was clearly black and white. Even without turning on the lights, one could see the road clearly and drive safely. During the drive, reporters got out of the car at each village they passed to interview the villagers.
Ms. Cen, a villager in Zhenxin Village, Xinrong Town: "It lights up from 6:30 in the evening to 6:30 in the next morning. It must be better to have street lights. Walking on the road when looking at (street lights) feels like walking on the street."
Gu Chong, the first village secretary of Fuzhong Village, Xinrong Town: “(After installing street lights), the environment of the entire village has improved to a higher level. Especially at night, it is very convenient to go for a walk. You can enjoy the tranquility, safety and comfortable country living of our village at night.”
Xinrong Town has a total of 7 administrative villages, and the total length of the main roads in the towns and villages is about 25.3 kilometers. In addition to the main road connecting "six villages and one village" that the reporter experienced, the town also has a 6-kilometer long town-village road from Zhenwei to Liuhua Village, which has also been changed from white to black and brightened. Up to now, all main roads in the town and villages have been brightened and upgraded, and a total of 1,265 solar street lights have been installed on both sides of the road with a spacing of about 40 meters between street lights. In addition, the town has also installed solar street lights in key parts of some villages based on the needs of villagers. A total of more than 200 lights have been installed in the town. All solar street light installation costs are subsidized by the town party committee and government for higher-level projects and each village mobilizes donations from local villagers. Among them, Fuzhong Village has installed street lights for a total of about 3.5 kilometers of roads, which has received strong support from the township’s virtuous entrepreneurs.
