On August 16, Signify announced that its world's largest LED lighting production base in Jiangxi Province, China, was completed and put into operation to meet the production capacity expansion needs of its joint venture Kaiyao Lighting.

According to reports, the new base covers a total area of 200,000 square meters, adopts advanced manufacturing technology and intelligent logistics management, and will be responsible for supplying Signify LED lighting products, including the Philips brand, to the Chinese and global markets. After completion and commissioning, the new base plans to activate 192 production lines by the end of 2023.
Signify CEO Ang Anli said that the new base is not only an important addition to the global supply chain, but also a reflection of its long-term commitment to the Chinese market. Further expanding the Chinese market is a key part of Signify's global business strategy. This base will help enhance Signify's manufacturing and innovation influence in this important market in China and better support China's goal of sustainable development.
It is reported that Signify currently has 9 manufacturing plants across China. In 2019, the company completed the acquisition of 51% of the equity of Kaiyao Lighting, a supplier of LED light sources and lighting fixtures.
