Zhongke Sanan improved indoor high-tech farm

At present, many places in the world are using technology in indoor agriculture to grow crops in a controlled environment, and Fujian Zhongke Biological Company ("Zhongke San'an") from Anxi City, Fujian Province, China, is improving this technology, hoping to provide Contribute to the future development of Chinese agriculture.

Zhongke Sanan improved indoor high-tech farm

Founded in 2015, Zhongke Sanan is a joint venture jointly initiated by the Institute of Botany, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Fujian Sanan Group. The company recently unveiled its latest expansion, a renovation based on an indoor high-tech farm that has been in development for about two years, the Daily Mail reports.

According to reports, the farm covers an area of 5,000 square meters and can produce 8-10 tons of vegetables every day, but only needs 4 employees to manage it. Traditional farmland would require about 300 farmers to produce the same amount of food, feeding nearly 36,000 people.

It is understood that the plant factory uses energy-saving LED plant growth lamps as the light source, and adopts interrelated control subsystems such as cooling-heating two-way temperature and humidity control, light-carbon dioxide coupling photosynthesis and gas fertilizer regulation, and online detection and control of the nutrient solution. Real-time automatic monitoring of environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, light, airflow, carbon dioxide concentration, and nutrient solution in the plant factory to achieve intelligent management and meet the needs of healthy plant production.

The first-generation indoor farm of Zhongke Biology is said to be the largest vertical farm in the world, covering an area of about 1 hectare.

"Compared to our first-generation smart farm, the new farm produces more efficient results while reducing labor and environmental costs," said the relevant person in charge of Zhongke Biology.

The person in charge explained that its core technology is light technology, light formula, and specially developed nutrient solution. "Maximizing the growth potential of plants while maintaining a sustainable growth cycle".

Foreign media pointed out that it takes 40 to 60 days for vegetables on traditional farms to mature according to weather conditions, but the plant factory of Zhongke Biology can harvest smaller varieties within 18 days, and larger varieties can be harvested within 33 to 35 days. vegetable.

"This farming method is especially beneficial to deserts, mountainous towns, or cities with high labor costs." The person in charge said.

It is understood that Zhongke Bio will also plan to improve the farm by installing artificial intelligence technology in the future, recording and analyzing growth data through sensors to determine the best-growing conditions for each specific vegetable.
