The Buying Science and Technology Industrial Zone was developed by the Tainan City Government in 102. With the continuous development of LED lighting technology and the maturity of smart technology applications, the Economic Development Bureau has planned to replace and upgrade the old street lamps since 109, and introduce wisdom. In addition to energy-saving lighting and automatic fault detection, the street light system also has the function of traffic flow monitoring. It is monitored through the intelligent system platform to ensure driving safety, achieve energy conservation and sustainability, and improve administrative efficiency.

The high-pressure sodium lamps built in Lake Park in the early days have become old, and the replacement of LED street lamps has the characteristics of power saving and low maintenance. The power-saving effect is as high as 50%, and the life of LED lamps is more than 10 times that of traditional lighting products. Under external factors, it is almost maintenance-free during the product cycle.
The product is planned to install a license plate recognition system at intersections with high traffic flow, integrate video information events on the street light monitoring platform, and access real-time images of cameras at various points through the "dashboard" of the monitoring platform. The image recognition technology can be extended to the factory area. The flood detention pond detects the high water level, has a high water level alarm, and at the same time presents an instant alarm on the street light monitoring platform.
Chen Kailing, director of Tainan City Economic Development, said that smart street lights will greatly benefit the management of public facilities in industrial areas. Smart LED street lights have the advantages of saving energy and reducing carbon emissions, and the monitoring platform of the smart system can save the manpower of government agencies, resources, real-time grasp of all equipment conditions, and rapid troubleshooting, which not only improves the safety of pedestrians but also strengthens the service quality of public facilities.
Liuke Park promotes the planning and distribution of smart street lamps, which is the most effective implementation of the Tainan City Government's smart city IoT policy. The lamps can be equipped with 5G, Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) base stations, various smart sensors, etc., forming a powerful IoT platform that integrates functions such as lighting, disaster prevention, network communication, monitoring, and climate data. It will widely collect data such as traffic flow, air quality, wind speed, temperature and humidity, and rainfall. An important basic database to realize Tainan's 5G Smart Technology City, making Tainan a global smart city benchmark.
