On June 29, 2022, the Chinese Academy of Sciences released a research result: the research and development and industrialization of ultra-high-power LED transparent fluorescent ceramics. The research results fill the gap in my country's domestic high-power LED lighting market and provide a high-efficiency, high-reliability transparent fluorescent ceramic and it's a packaging technology that can replace traditional phosphors.

It is reported that after years of research and accumulation of transparent ceramics, the project team has developed high-efficiency, high-reliability transparent fluorescent ceramics and their packaging technology to replace traditional phosphors, breaking through the large-scale preparation of high-quality fluorescent ceramics, efficient heat dissipation of COB packaged light sources, the key technologies such as precise light distribution of the whole lamp have completely independent intellectual property rights from material preparation to the packaging process. At present, the laboratory has achieved a single COB light source power of 1500 watts (the reported maximum power), realizing a revolutionary ultra-high power white light. LED packaging technology has obtained a number of PCT international invention patents and more than 30 domestic patent authorizations, breaking through foreign patent barriers.
The project team used its self-developed inorganic glass-ceramic phosphors to replace the traditional LED lamps made of phosphors/organic silica gel and fluorescent ceramics, which have the advantages of high luminous intensity, tunable chromaticity, and stable physicochemical properties. Compared with high-power traditional high-pressure sodium lamps and metal halide lamps, its energy consumption is only about one-third of that of high-pressure sodium lamps and metal halide lamps, which has obvious advantages.
