Semiconductor lighting (LED) is a new generation of lighting sources following compact fluorescent lamps (ie, ordinary energy-saving lamps). It has the characteristics of energy-saving and environmental protection, long life, small size, wide application, and rich colors.
The data shows that the current electricity consumption of lighting in my country accounts for more than 15% of the electricity consumption of the whole society. LED lights have good economic and social benefits regardless of their full life cycle or in the use phase. Generally, 5 watts LED light can replace 40 Watt incandescent lamp or 10-watt ordinary energy-saving lamp. Taking a single ordinary household in Beijing as an example, the annual household lighting power consumption is about 150 kWh, and the electricity cost is about 73 RMB; and after all the LED lights are replaced, the annual power consumption is only about 75 kWh, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 64 kg, which can save nearly half of electricity bills.
According to the relevant person in charge of the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Beijing residents’ living energy consumption accounts for nearly a quarter of the city’s total energy consumption. Among them, lighting energy saving and carbon reduction has great potential. Let more families use LED lighting, which can not only achieve more efficient lighting but also save energy. Electricity expenditure and promotion of green consumption are important ways for the general public to actively contribute to carbon emission reduction and carbon neutrality. This pilot promotion activity is also one of the practical activities of "I do practical things for the masses" carried out by the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission.
