The reporter learned from the Zhangjiakou Energy Bureau that in order to further consolidate and improve the results of the three-year campaign to improve the rural human settlement environment and poverty alleviation and facilitate the people to travel at night, this year Zhangjiakou City will be guided by the construction of beautiful and livable villages and focus on the farmhouse vacancy rate of 30%. In the following villages, through the implementation of the village lighting improvement action with the vacancy rate of farmhouses below 30%, 13206 street lamps have been newly installed and replaced in 445 villages in 16 counties and districts to further improve the lighting level of villages in the city.

Village lighting is an important task to improve the rural living environment, facilitate people's travel, and improve public services. According to the data, as of the end of 2020, Zhangjiakou City had newly installed, replaced, and repaired 187,535 street lights, improving public lighting facilities in 3,123 villages, benefiting more than one million rural residents. In order to do a good job in this year’s village lighting work, the Municipal Energy Bureau, combined with party history learning and education, launched the 2021 rural lighting project in April, which will cover 445 counties in 16 counties including Zhangbei County, Qiaodong and Wanquan Districts. 13,206 street lights were newly built and replaced in the village.
In order to implement this work, Zhangjiakou City, based on the village-by-village lighting of villages with a vacancy rate of less than 30%, carried out inspections and repairs for villages that did not meet the lighting standards and continued to implement lighting projects to eliminate lighting. Resolve blind spots; implement the village road lighting project in villages where conditions permit, enhance the overall image of key villages, and realize "bright villages". Promote the use of RTU intelligent street lamp control system, grasp the operation of lighting facilities, timely maintain damaged or unusable equipment, and give priority to the use of solar LED lighting facilities and wind-solar complimentary LED lighting facilities. At the same time, all counties (districts) will establish a long-term management and protection mechanism for village lighting, and a three-level system of responsible persons at the county (district), township, and village levels, to ensure the long-term stable operation of lighting facilities.
