Common faults and causes of LED lamps
LED lamps generally consist of a lamp housing and an LED wick. The LED wick consists of an LED lamp bead and a constant current drive source. The form of the fault is generally that the lamp flashes or does not light up. The common reason is that the lamp bead is damaged and the circuit is broken or the lamp bead is aging, which causes the circuit resistance to change. The constant current source constantly adjusts the output current. The current is large and sometimes small, causing the lamp to flash. malfunction. The reasons for the damage and aging of the lamp beads are the quality of the lamp, the use time of the lamp and the poor heat dissipation. The lamp bead does not light up. It is not ruled out that the constant current source is damaged. However, in the actual maintenance, the lamp does not turn on due to the damage of the constant current source. Rarely, in most cases, the LED lamp bead is damaged and causes the failure of not lighting or flashing.
Simple maintenance of LED lamp failure
For the simple maintenance of LED lamps, we mainly focus on LED lamp beads. Common LED lamp beads have a working voltage of 3-6 volts, a working current of 300-350 mA, and a power of 0.5-2W. The maintenance steps are divided into finding faulty lamp beads and dealing with faulty lamp beads.
Finding the faulty lamp bead: Get a damaged LED wick, power on to observe whether the lamp is flashing or not bright. The flickering of the lamp is mostly due to the aging of the lamp beads, and the failure to light is because the lamp beads are broken or the constant current source is damaged. We first pass an intuitive inspection to see if there is any blackening or damage inside the lamp beads. If the visual inspection fails to find out, we can use a 3-6 volt DC power supply to test one by one, pay attention to the positive and negative polarity of the lamp beads during the test, and find the faulty lamp beads if they do not light up. If all lights are on, the fault is caused by damage to the constant current source. If the rated working voltage of the lamp bead cannot be determined, the test power supply should be selected from a low voltage as much as possible, and the voltage level should be increased when it is off. The test time should be as short as possible.
Treatment of faulty lamp beads: For faulty lamp beads, short-circuit methods are generally used for simple maintenance, and the aging lamp beads are damaged by short-circuiting the wires with an electric soldering iron. For some friends who are worried that the reduced voltage of the lamp beads will increase and damage other lamp beads, in fact, don't worry, the constant current source will automatically adjust the output voltage according to the number of lamp beads. This short-circuiting method is only suitable for repairing a small number of damaged lamp beads and appropriately extends the service life of the lamp.
