The Pakistani Deputy Chief Minister SushilKumarModi said on Friday that as part of the National Roadmap Program (SLNP), LED streetlights will soon be installed in all state-owned municipal companies and urban local agencies to save electricity.
SushilKumarModi said that the government has put more emphasis on replacing traditional light bulbs with LED lights for use in streetlights, as it can save 9 billion kWh of electricity in the country.
He added that "Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of public sector power companies, will soon begin installing new LED street lights in the state. A survey conducted by EESL in the jurisdiction of Biharsharif Municipal Corporation , The installation of LED street lamps will save the city authorities an annual INR 131 million (approximately 0.134 billion renminbi).”
He said that the state government agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) after implementing the National Street Lamp Program (SLNP) in the state. In three phases, LED lights will be installed on all poles in the town. If necessary, street lights will be replaced within 72 hours. ”
Modi added that EESL will enter into separate agreements with municipal companies and local urban agencies to implement the national street lamp program. The National Urban Development and Housing Minister, Suresh Sharma, discussed the outstanding features of the new facility at a meeting on Friday. EESL representatives also attended the meeting.
Officials said that in the first phase, the EESL will replace traditional street lamps with LED lights. In the second stage, LED lights will be installed on all light poles without street lights. Finally, in the third phase, poles were installed in remote areas and LED lights were installed.
